I love this nurse midwife at her staff!!! I enjoyed going to my appointment, she is very thorough and listens to all of my concerns. I have birthed two children with her help. This last birth I had she helped me to remain calm and collected and able to breathe through all of my contractions… My baby was coming out crooked and she was able to turn my baby so that I can have her vaginally. I had both of my babies natural, but this nurse midwife won't try to get you to go natural if you really want an epidural. She was very open with me concerning my options and was not afraid to tell it to me straight. She and her staff are amazing , and I would recommend her to anybody who would like a personable experience while having your child in a hospital.
My wife and I love Laurie Hansen. She delivered two of our children and were hoping she will deliver our third next year.
Laurie is wonderful! I cannot say enough good. Her office is in the hospital where she delivers. I liked that i could have a nurse midwife but still be in a safe environment if there was an emergency. I have delivered 2 babies with her. First baby, i had no intentions of going naturally and Laurie never pressured me but she suggested i read a book, that she loaned me, about labor and the Bradley method, just to help me prepare and it hooked me on trying for a natural labor. I have been able to have all of my babies naturally with her help. She tries her hardest to be there for the deliveries of all her patients. She and her staff make you feel like their only patient and take time to get to know you and answer any questions or concerns. I enjoy my appointments with them and have nothing bad to say about any of my care.
When we visit She makes my wife feel so comfortable. And answers all of questions and concerns. You get the feeling that her and her staff would bend over backward to ensure everything goes as well as it can for mom and baby. What a wonderful woman!
I absolutely LOVE Laurie. I have had six children, the last two with Laurie, and those births were amazing. With my first with Laurie, I wanted a natural birth. She was very attentive during her appointments, and always took time to listen to me and all of my concerns. When I went into labor (2015), she encouraged and supported me to have a natural labor just as I wanted. For my second baby with Laurie, she was just as attentive to me, answering all of my questions. There were some concerns with the baby, and she did everything she could to answer my questions and ease my mind. When I went into labor with this one (Sep 2017), she was amazing and supportive. This time I wanted an epidural, and she was very supportive of me and encouraged me to have the type of labor that I wanted. She left me in charge of my body and labor and would give advice when asked. That labor was just as wonderful as the other one. Whether you want a natural birth, or a medicated birth, Laurie is the way to go. She is knowledgeable, supportive, and will give you the birth you want. We love Laurie.
Laurie has delivered both of my babies and I cannot say enough about her. I had my last child naturally, and Laurie was the key to help me have the birth I have always wanted! She was so supportive, loving, and joyful with us. I will recommend Laurie and her staff to anyone! They make you feel loved and welcomed and truly go out of their way to listen to your wishes. This is exactly the type of care we need more of in the world!!!
She really knows her stuff. If you are worried that She's not as qualified as a doctor. I wouldn't worry. I asked her a bunch of questions about it. She's been doing the Job She loves for 40 years. .. and she still loves it. You can tell when you visit. She's had comparable hours of schooling as a doctor but she focused her education toward what she does. And She's so good!
