Maybe because it was because I was a female, I was with friends, or that I didn't look like the monopoly man, but I would NEVER do business with him.
Mr. Giger approached me and my friends in the parking lot. He didn't say hello, so I started in that I was interested in the car and that I had the same vehicle, but with a manual transmission but I was looking at up grading. He responded with, "You should go to AVIS." I thought maybe he didn't understand me so I said again I was interested in the car but wanted to see the difference between the manual and the automatic. He told me that he "doesn't take trade ins and they are the same engine so they will drive the same," and that, "what are you going to do with two cars anyways?" I said that I was going to sell my car, and what did it matter if I owned 2 cars at once, why does he care?! He informed me and my friends that in order to test drive a car I needed "serious" interest and a bank loan in hand. Well, considering I was ready to purchase the car with cash that day, I would say that I was serious and didn't require a bank loan. I told him I was not doing business with him, he told me, "good, I have been in this business for 40 years and I know that 500: 1 if someone asks right away to test drive a car they're not buying it and they just want a joy ride." Yeah... I wanted to joyride around Cedar City in a '99 Subaru Outback.
UPDATE!!! I have since moved out of Cedar City but have many friends in that area; apparently the owner of this horrid business attempted to respond to my poor review posting to a customer by saying that "we were a bunch of teens that were drunk". For the record, I was with my fire crew who were taking a lunch break, in uniform, and there was only 3 of us; all of whom are well over the legal age. SKETCHY business...
Just came back from trying to test drive a Subaru that I was interested in purchasing and walked away in dismay.
