From the woman at check in who read my 70 year old hubby the riot act about quiet hours from 10 pm - 6 am to the tiny austere room, this is one out dated hotel. The few positive things were the cleanliness of the room, good air conditioning and the soft bed. The walls were very thin and you could hear lots of noise and activity from the hallway and rooms above and on either side, including the group that came in around midnight! So much for the quiet hours!! The air conditioner kept the room cool but was super noisy each time it started up. If you are a lite sleeper, you would have a problem sleeping. The room was very small with one full size bed, a tiny TV sitting way up on top of an open front "closet ", a lime green refrigerator inside the "closet" and a counter/desk against the same wall with two wooden chairs pushed in under the front and end. I say "closet " because while there was a rod with a few hangers, there was not much room to hang anything. A suitcase rack was provided, also stuffed folded into the "closet" in the space next to the fridge. I suppose you could have used it but there would be no room to get around the bed. The bathroom was clean but the shower head was awful as well as the thin, rough towels. They say you get what you pay for. We've stayed at other Motel 6. None were as bad as this one. We won't be staying here again.
Although we choose motel 6 because of the low rate, I feel that we paid enough that we should have had a clean tub. The first night the phone rang at 2 am with noone on the other end and then again at 7 am. When we reported that to the front desk, there was absolutely no interest or apology. We hung our towels as was recommended in the information left by the hotel but the next day the towels were gone and had not been replaced. We reported that on the way to our evening event and were told to pick them up on our way back in. Even for a low price I would expect a little more. The hotel was otherwise clean and satisfactory.
Pretty bare bones on everything. Clean-ish. Quiet at night. Near a lot of fast food and gas stations, as well as about half an hour from several of the major parks. It's not bad, but you won't be wanting to draw out your stay.
Why I like about Motel 6 - 1) dog friendly, 2) ability to change my reservation late in the day (If I decide to stop sooner or to extend my day), 3) multiple convenient locations along the road 4) affordable... I would normally stay at a higher quality motel (I like La Quinta...), but use Motel 6 when traveling for the above reasons... Would recommend for the above reasons to to friends traveling with dogs.
It's a cheap motel that you can sleep and shower in. As long as you aren't expecting more than that, you won't be disappointed.
The deodorizer that is piped in and or sprayed was so strong we needed to open the window. The TV didn't work with all channels. It would be really nice to have at least two pillows and kleenex.
Walls way to thin. We could hear above and four doors down the hall!
