The ring finally got back to Castro one month after they first sent it out. I was getting excited to finally have my ring back, and I called to ask them to please overnight it as soon as it was ready. It was then that they informed me it would be yet another week. Their employee who sets the stones was on a trip, and wouldn't be back fit a few more days, and they were closed memorial day so he wouldn't be able to come in. I told them about my engagement pictures, rescheduled for the following week and was told I would probably get it in time.
I love my ring from Castro. My fiance had a pleasant experience purchasing it, and they were so kind when we went in to get it resized. I didn't start having problems with this jeweler until about a month after the purchase date when one of the diamonds in my ring fell out. I went in and they were very helpful, replacing the diamond for free. They also told me they had checked the prongs so I wouldn't have the same problem again. Three weeks later, another stone fell out. I was frustrated because the jeweler had told me they had checked the prongs. I had owned the ring for less than two months and had already had to get it repaired twice.
Thank you very much to the entire staff at castro jewelers! The custom ring you helped me create for my wife is perfect! I had two other jewelers tell me it couldnt be done and here it is! She is over the moon happy and as they say happy wife happy life:) Thanks again
The kindness and helpfulness of the apprentice is the reason I gave Castro more than one star. Though my ring is lovely and Castro helped get the problems sorted out, dealing with them this month has been a nightmare. They did not communicate the problems to me, I was completely left in the dark about what was going on and when I would get my ring back, and I felt as though I was their last priority. I have now been engaged for three months and Castro has had my ring for longer than I have. I would only recommend Castro and Co. for original purchases...and if they sell you a flawed item, as they did to me, go elsewhere for repairs.
I've had many dealings with this store. Always honest, informative, and fair. Good people. Fascinating inventory.
Awesome people. I drove up to cedar city to shop for wedding ring for my bride to be. Brought her so she could get EXACTLY what she loved. Found perfection and was able to negotiate great price with Kevin the owner. Guess he thought it was cute that two 70 year olds were in love and getting hitched. Weather or not he fell for "the cute old folks" ploy or not, ''twas a great day for all.
About a week later, I received a call from Castro. They told me my ring was ready for pickup. I was so thrilled to finally get it back, because the wait had been three times longer than what they had originally told me it would be. However, they called back an hour later, informing me in a voicemail that the ring was not actually ready and was being mailed back. I was extremely frustrated, and concerned because they had not told me exactly what was wrong with it. I called the store and asked what was wrong, and the woman who answered the phone laughed and told me they had forgotten to put the stones in. She didn't offer an apology for the inconvenience, and she told me it would be another week. I was upset at the way the woman on the other line handled the situation, and I was frustrated that my ring was still gone. I had to reschedule my engagement pictures because of the inconvenience.
I had a diamond that I wanted put into my current wedding ring. When I went in to ask about my ring the employees were really patient and understanding. It was super easy to schedule a time to have my ring worked on and they got it done really quickly! They did an amazing job on my ring and even cleaned it and made it look brand new.
They told me they would fix it and recheck it, which I appreciated. The next day, they called me and told me my ring would have to be remade, so they were sending it back to the manufacturer, and that it would take no longer then a week. I was grateful that they weren't charging me, and getting it taken care of. However, two and a half weeks had passed by and I had heard nothing. They told me they would call me after a week if it wasn't ready. I was beginning to panic, thinking it had gotten lost in the mail. I called Castro and asked what was going on. They then informed me that the manufacturer wasn't finished, but that it would just be a few more days.
Fortunately, the apprentice of the employee who set the stones was very reasonable when speaking with him, and told him she would personally see to it that the ring was finished before our pictures, and offered him a full refund if it was not.
My fiance went in to the store and expressed his disappointment. He asked if there was any place they could send the ring to to get the stones set before their employee returned, and asked about alternative solutions. They told him there were none in Cedar City or St. George that they were aware of. He also noticed that the ring looked a bit big, and learned they had sent a size 7 rather than a size 5.
