While I believe my interaction was more pleasant as I wasn't breaking the law. I found the Officer I spoke to to be professional and intelligent.
PS. Cedar City should think about there policies on allowing an office to baloon over 300 pounds, just because they have a few years under their belts. Looks careless on the city's part. This particular officer should be barred from all donut shops.
I have very much appreciated how professional, responsive, and kind the Cedar City Police Department has been in our interactions. They are truly dedicated to our community, and carry out their responsibilities with full adherence to policy and total professionalism. Recently, a family member was attacked by a dog, and the process was swift, and thorough, and resolved so well. Thank you to our awesome Cedar City Police Department!
These guys do a great job. I had to report a noise complaint once and they were prompt and polite in helping us deal with the problem. They really make an effort to reach out to the community and hold events such as lunch with a cop.
I was in Cedar City on June 18 at 1130pm. Headed to Orem Utah , I was driving for 9 hrs and decided to find a room and continue our trip in the morning. Unfortunately I made a so called unsafe lane change and was stopped by the Cedar Police. The office said I was reeking of alcohol smell and also my truck. I don't drink and my wife had 1 beer an hour earlier at the casino. The office had his partner smell the inside of the car and he said it smelled like weed. I confessed and told them, I smoked a J 30 min. Earlier. They proceeded to search my car. The office weighed about 350 pounds. Barely fit in the cab of my truck. The other officer had us sit on the curb while his donut goblin partner searched my truck. He weighed about 150 pounds. While we're waiting, he asked us if we were Mexican and what was the reason why we did not have any tattoos? He had never met any one from LA Cal. With out tatoos. Our personal things were spilled all over the cab and he took my wife purse and suit case and spelled all the contents in the open bed in the back. I believe he should have search her purse in front of her. It was a very degrading and discrimatory experience. They treated us like criminals. The 350 pounder wrote me a ticket for unsafe lane change and possetion of weed (1 joint). What a joke. Theses officers were totally unprofessional. The are so call trained indivituals. They could not tell a drunk from a normal person. Then the last of their idiotasy, They told us that my wife could not drive, but I could. God help us with officers like this. We will never ever stop at Cedar City again. Beware!!!
