This is the liquor store, but the name "Dept of Alcoholic Beverage Control" sounds like an office building. We just wanted hard cider and they had about 4 smaller brands plus Mikes Hard Cider and Angry Orchard. It's a large store and likely has most other liquors someone would want.
As a northern Californian, I find the concept of something such as a "state controlled liquor store" very odd. That said it has the atmosphere of a hotel bathroom, the stock of a small grocery store with what I'm considering to be a quality just above cooking supplies, and an unrefrigerated beer section that could use at the least a bit of effort to be somewhat presentable. Wines are so so.
Who's bright idea was it to close a liquor store at 7 pm?
All said, the ringers are super nice and don't hassle me right away "where's your ID?" I feel bad they have to work in such a horribly stocked and decorated store. Also wish that a liquor store of all places would be open past 7pm, it's super annoying cause I don't get off work until 9 most nights.
Very friendly cashier lady during our visit. Great sales on wines and large selection of vodkas. Was in perfect location for us since it is right adjacent to a freeway ramp and we were visiting from Ivins on a day trip to Bryce Canyon National park. Will definitely use this store again in the future.
Hate that Utah is allowed to do this, and they have rude employees.
